Bread Machine Buttermilk Bread

- 1 Bread Machine
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Buttermilk Room Temperature
- 3 Tbsp Butter Room Temperature
- 1 egg slightly beaten Room Temperature
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 4 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour plus more for working the dough
- 2 Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
- Olive oil as needed
Instructions
- Add ingredients in the order listed to your bread maker.
- Use the dough cycle.
- When the machine is done, remove the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for a few minutes. Shape into a ball and place it into a lightly oiled bowl (flip the dough over so whole ball of dough has a very light film of oil). Cover with plastic film and let rise in a warm place until double in size. - about an hour.
- Punch the dough down and knead a few times. Shape as you would like to bake and put the shaped dough into appropriate (for your purposes) baking pan. Cover and let rise again until doubled in size - about an hour
- bake @350° for 30 - 35 minutes
- Remove from oven, wipe top with butter and let rest in the pan for 5 minutes
- Remove loaf from pan and let cool completely before cutting or wrapping up.
