Turmeric Basmati Rice

Delicious and easy baked rice recipe. So good you will choose it over and over!

Equipment

  • 1 dutch oven or other heavy bottomed pot with a tight fitting lid.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Salted Butter
  • 1 large Onion, Diced
  • 2 cups Extra Long Basmati Rice
  • 2 tsp Turmeric
  • 4 cups Chicken Stock

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • In a dutch oven on medium heat, melt the butter and add the onion. Saute until softened.
  • Add the turmeric and stir it into the butter onion mix until well combined. (no more than 30 seconds)
  • Add the rice and chicken stock. Mix well. Add a tight fitting lid and transfer to the preheated oven.
  • Cook for 25 minutes.
  • After 25 minutes, remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes (with the lid on).
  • After 10 minutes, remove the lid and fluff with a fork
