Cake Mix Hack - BANANA
Want bakery level cake from a box mix? This is the one!
Ingredients
- 1 box spice cake mix make sure it is the kind that says it is moist, super moist, pudding in the mix or the like. (it matters!)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk room temperature
- 3 whole eggs, slightly scrambled room temperature
- 1/2 cup butter, melted (and cooled)
- 1 - 1 1/2 cups overripe bananas, mashed approx 3 large bananas
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉, Grease and flour 13 x 9 pan
- Mix together cake mix, baking powder, eggs and milk. Then add the cooled melted butter and banana. Mix thoroughly, but don't over mix.
- Pour batter into the pan. Tap the pan on the counter a few times to settle the batter.
Bake for 23-28 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out "clean"
Allow to cool completely before frosting
Notes
This freezes very well. You can also use other pan shapes and sizes, just follow the baking time instructions on the back of the cake mix box. Be sure to check your cake at the minimum time stated and increase time as needed. You don't want to over bake!
